I HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!!!

You never know what you are thankful for until you lose something! I absolutely thank God and all my lucky stars for Air Conditioning!!! My uncle came over today to look at it for me because we all know I have no clue what I am doing...but he pretty much told me that i need a new thermastat! I am so glad we don't need a whole new thing! But now me and Lyla are cool and comfortable!! So thank you thank you thank you to my wonderful uncle!
While my uncle was over looking at my AC ; my aunt and cousin came with him to visit! I haven't seen them in a while since I have been so busy going to school and work. It was amazing to see how much my little (now big) cousin had grown. She gave me prom pictures and told me about breaking up with her boyfriend! I was just in awe as I watched her talk! Time goes so fast! She is almost an adult!!! I think I need Prozac!!! This is crazy...
Today Lyla found her baby brush...that I had been looking for to put in storage...and starting to brush her own hair!! That was a first....so stinkin cute!!! She would brush her hair and look at me..and I would say "OH SO CUTE!!!"
This getting older and time flying by is just blowing my mind......Does anyone have a time stopper!???

Just another day

ok so today wasn't anything special...just in a blogging mood!

Oh WAIT...........something did happen today...I think our Air Conditioning is going out!! How could I forget that? Oh probably because around 10pm..when the sun went down and the house started to cool off...the dang thing came back on!!
So we only have an AC that works when it is cool...yeah...that's a day in the life of NIKKI! LOL!!

But anyway..besides sweating my butt off...Lyla cracks me up everyday! I love her! I don't know what i did before i had her! Today we were watching "So you think you can dance" and she was in the floor actually paying attention to it...so cute! When the audience would clap..she would start clapping! When Mary (one of the judges) starting screaming and going crazy...Lyla starting talking and pointing at the TV...Oh i was in tears...it was sooo funny!!! Now when she talks she is starting to use her toungue so every once in a while when she is talking her toungue like flies in and out of her mouth....she is priceless! She leaves me speechless sometimes...I just love to watch her! She is also starting to wave goodbye! And her famous "you can't see me" motion that both Grandpa's taught her!! That is cute! I don't watch wrestling but it is the move that Jon Cena does before he does something to people ....it is cute when a 10 month old does it...

so now i have to study for a Government quiz....do some art reviews.....and take a test!! All before midnight....Lyla just laid down...so i got an hour!! GO ME!!!

The Longest Trip of my LIFE!!

Today a friend and I had to go to Little Rock...which is Arkansas's capital...to a class for work! We have people come in and rate our classrooms and tell us things we need to change to make our class better or that we are doing a good job! The good job thing usually never happens..there is always something to make better!! Anyway ...this was supposed to be a three hour trip....It seemed like it took forever! We don't get alot of time to talk ...just chat...we are always working. So on the way up there we talked and everything was grand until it was time to find where we were going!! We finally found it...then the class was nothing like we thought it was going to be...but staying positive..we decided to keep a smile on our face! On the way home we were chatting ...life...kids...hubbies...work....everything..and COMPLETELY MISSED OUR EXIT! Our home exit! We ended up in Oklahoma somwhere....so funny! We had a great time though and it was nice to have the chance to catch up and just talk about anything and everything!!

I know I know BAD BLOGGER!!

I know! I am a bad blogger!
My life has been so busy though the past few months that my head is spinning!! Going to school, going to work, trying to keep the house clean, take care of hubby and baby!!! Whew!
I used to do Fly Lady and need to start again...it helped me alot keeping up with the house!
This summer I am not working as much and i am taking online classes so...maybe ....just maybe..i will have more time to blog! !

What's been going on?
I went to Kentucky with my in laws...yes I know already a red flag....but i risked it and went! My husband's family lives down there and they have not gotten the chance to see the baby...so when they called and said Granny G was not doing good and if we wanted her to see Lyla we had to get down there...so we packed our stuff and hit the road...thank god Lyla slept all the way up there....it was a 12...yes 12 hour trip! Gregg drove the whole way! WHAT A MAN!
Once we got there the drama started....and it went all the way until after we left...we left earlier than the others!

When it was just me and Gregg, and Lyla we had a blast~! We went to a water park...Lyla napped through that!

We went to a cave....and yeah...Lyla napped!
Poor thing didn't feel to great we were trying to get our top tooth in...so after the cave..we just left and came home! She slept all the way home!

I have never felt so good to be home! I forget how blessed I am. I am so blessed! At our age...we have a wonderful house...food in the fridge...a nice TV...beautiful furniture...decorations everywhere....we are so lucky....God has blessed us greatly!

I promise I should have more time to blog now...so stay tuned for the college adventures of a wife and mommy!!!!!

Risking it for school!

Whew today i was soo nervous!! We needed to get to school because it was the first day of this class...but it was soo cold and rainy and the weatherman was predicting ice and snow! And man we didn't want to get stuck 30 minutes from home..so we decided to risk it and go...and if if got bad we would just tell the professor that we had to leave early! So off we go and did great until we came to the bridge right before the school....my car starting swerving....but ........we made it across!! We finally got in there and went to class...come to find out we were in an Algebra class....we needed a Physical Science class.....ha ha.....so we found our actual class and explained to our professor where we were and why we were late and he said since we risked it and came to school that he was letting everyone out early! yay!! I am sure the weather had alot to do with it but everyone was so excited that we came so they could get out early!!! All in all i think i am going to like my science class!

My First Day back to College

Today was my first day of classes at Carl Albert. I absolutely love going because I am going with two of my good friends that I work with. We have almost every class together. I think there is one for each of us that we don't have with each other. Today was our Microcomputer Applications class. How fun does that sound??? It was actually ok..but you know how it goes...those professors are soo cool the first few days and them BOOM!!!! Here's a paper, There's an exam, and OH YEAH....you have a pop quiz in two minutes!!! I know how it goes...this isn't my first rodeo!! But today was pretty neat...we just went over what we going to be doing this semester. There was only 11 people in that class including me, Kaycee, and Lindsey! So it was pretty laid back and everyone was pretty sociable. So when I start learning cool computer words...I will let ya know!

Week 1 - Goals for 2009

This is the first card of the Deck of Me!!! It is a project I am doing with a scrapbooking forum I am on. Every week one of my friend Kathy is going to give us a prompt and with that prompt we are going to alter a playing card. There is 52 cards in a deck and 52 weeks in a year...so when this year is done...we will have a whole deck of cards that are all about us!! The theme this year is All About Me! I love this because with as busy as I am ...it doesn't take much time to alter a card and it gives the satisfaction of doing something I like for just a little bit!

Week 1 is about our goals for 2009.....

Lyla's 4month shots today!

Yeah! I hate shot day!! Today was her four month old shots!! She is good now until six months! then after six months shes doesn't have to go back until she is a year old!!! it just breaks my heart when she gets shots! Gregg called into work late so he could stay with us but the dang doctor took soooo long that Gregg had to go ahead and leave. And as soon as he left ..there they come in to give them to her. So aggrevating! But she did good..of course she cried but not long at all...she is such a good baby!! God really blessed me when he gave me Lyla!!!
